Buy an unopened geode from Mexico.  Open your geode by using a small hammer and a screwdriver.  It’s a fun project for the family.   Safety first!  Be sure to wear protective eyewear when opening a geode.   What will you find inside?  Because geodes are natural, It is going to vary.  Some geodes will have small drusy crystals throughout, while others will be relatively solid.  

This is a fun family activity and excellent for home school classes.
